About the
Perrys:
Brother Perry, a graduate of the University of Georgia, wife Marilyn, and
family relocated to Atlanta in 1983 from Louisville, KY when he left GE for
Chick-fil-A and today serves as the Company’s Vice President for Corporate
Public Relations. As a child Don was one of the first African-Americans to gain
admission to the prestigious Henry W. Grady School of Journalism and was honored
as one of the 50 most successful graduates of the school and designated a Grady
Fellow in 2009.
Sister Marilyn Perry, who grew up in Conyers, GA is also a graduate of UGA from
its Terry College of Business. She was an active member of the campus ministry
in Athens, GA and worked for the Louisville branch of the Federal Reserve Bank.
Marilyn recently retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 plus
years of outstanding service. She is an active member of the award winning
Hillcrest Singers and provides leadership for Hillcrest Female Bonding ministry.
